Distinction Te Anau Hotel and Villas:
Distinction Te Anau Hotel and Villas is built on the site of the original hotel constructed back in 1890. One hundred and ten plus years later, on the same site amidst expansive grounds, Te Anau's largest hotel retains pride of place on the lake edge.
Matched by a colourful history of hosting Royalty, VIP's and thousands of leisure seekers allured by the regions pristine outdoors, the property has been managed by some enduring hospitality identities.
This history is also reflected with the property assuming the identity of leading hospitality brands such as Tourist Health Resorts THC, SPHC and more latterly Holiday Inn-Te Anau. A recent name change has re-branded the property as Te Anau Hotel and Villas.
Since its purchase in 1998 by Geoffrey Thomson, the Hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment including upgrades to conference facilities, foyer and reception area, bar and restaurant, Lake view rooms, Villas and common areas like the swimming and spa pools.
